Writers First Shrine Visit in 2020 (Ninzaburo)

2020.02.14 BLOG

At the GR official's editorial meeting held at the end of last year, we decided to have a small photowalk together for the first time in a long time, like the one we had in Magome before, at the beginning of the year, which would also be the first shrine visit.

The place where we met was the famous Kaminarimon gate.

Kaminarimon gate, Sensoji Temple, crowded with tourists

We thought there would be less people for the first visit because it was already January 16th, but no, there were lots of people!!

Six of the writers gathered on this day: Minew, KA-TSU, ARA, Asakura, Ninzaburo, and Machuko@ the admin.

First of all, we will head towards the main hall. As we took photos while walking along Nakamise Street, we could easily get separated. We had to be careful not to miss each other.

Statute-lover Ninzaburo was obsessed with the statue in the center of the water house. The statue was a dragon god, sculpted by Takamura Koun, and the dragon painted on the ceiling was by Japanese painter Azuma Shoko.

We finally arrived at the main hall and made a wish together for many photo opportunities for the new year.

We also made a wish for the members who couldn't make it on this day.

Then, we drew Mikuji, fortune slips.
Since Sensoji Temple is known for frequent bad slips, and we were talking it would be nice if someone drew a bad one. Oh yes, I got one.

The content was merciless. I thought I was ready for it but if you really get one, it depresses you. This year, I will do my best without being distracted.

After the visit, the photowalk started.

It took us an hour to go around starting from Hanayashiki amusement park and returning to Kaminarimon, but we enjoyed shooting very much.

After the photo session, we rented a meeting room in Asakusa Culture Tourist Information Center, located opposite Kaminarimon, and had an editorial meeting.

The place was very convenient. I myself used the power supply to charge my smartphone until the meeting started.

We were excited to talk about our up-coming projects including GR THEATER, which is scheduled to be held next month. Please look forward to it!
