As announced in today’s press release, the RICOH GR will celebrate its 30th anniversary on 21 October 2026, marking three decades since the launch of the film-based GR1 in 1996.

This milestone is entirely thanks to all of you who have loved and used the GR. Thank you very much.

Today’s GR models exist solely because of all the previous ones. We would like to express our gratitude to everyone who has loved these GR models, as well as to the planning and development team members who were involved in creating them.

In order for the GR to remain GR, we will continue striving to create the ultimate snapshooters. We appreciate your continued support.

　
By the way, some of you might be wondering, “Wait, wasn’t it the 20th anniversary last year? So why is it the 30th this year?”

Up until now, we have celebrated milestones such as the 5th, 10th and 15th anniversaries since the launch of the GR DIGITAL in 2005, especially in Japan. In that context, we held the 20th anniversary event last year.

This year marks the 30th anniversary of the GR brand itself. We are planning even more events and original merchandise than last year. Please stay tuned!
