Thank you, 2025!

2025.12.29 BLOG

There are only a few days left in 2025. GR SPACE TOKYO is also closing for the year today. (Link)

This time of year always makes me say, “Each year passes faster and faster…" How was this year for you?

We have successfully completed the “GR meet 47” tour, which took place in all 47 prefectures over the last three years. I already miss it (but we have already started a new tour of five major cities).

This year marks the 20th anniversary of the release of the GR DIGITAL. For our anniversary event, we displayed catalog works from throughout its history and shared stories from the past with fans and photographers.

We also held some collaborative projects and had exhibitions and events at GR SPACE TOKYO, where we had the pleasure of meeting many fans.

First and foremost, we are deeply grateful to have successfully launched the RICOH GR IV, the first full model change in six years, in this commemorative 20th anniversary year. We are truly thankful to have released a new product at this special milestone.

The 30th anniversary of the GR1’s release is next year, in 2026.

Please look forward to the GR IV HDF and GR IV Monochrome, which are scheduled for release next year! We will ontinue to share the joy of photography and cameras with you.

Now, let’s take a look at year-end photos from our writers!

I joined 20 years ago, thinking I’d just help launch the blog for the original GR DIGITAL. The GR has truly become an extension of myself, and always will be.

The GR DIGITAL 20th Anniversary Event meant so much to me. I am grateful for the connections I have made with so many people through GR.

●Minew
We celebrated the 20th anniversary of the GR DIGITAL and launched the GR IV! It was a memorable year. Persistence pays off.

●Yuka
I checked off “ride this off-road trail” from my bucket list. It was one of the top three adventures of my life. It was also a significant milestone year, as I returned permanently to Japan after living in the United States for seven years.

●KA-TSU
This is the sky on the way back from the 47th GR meet in Kumamoto this summer. I’m glad I made it to the final 47th meet in any case.

●ARA
It’s been already a year since I returned to the camera department, where I've enjoyed “taking”, “viewing” and “connecting” both professionally and personally. Photography is truly wonderful.

●Ninzaburo
1. Purchased the folding bicycle I had wanted for years. 2. Moved for the first time in five and a half years. 3. Posted an article for the first time in two years. This year, I freed myself from whatever had been holding me back.

●Asakura
After three years, GR meet 47 has finally come to a close. Encountering so many people and landscapes made this a truly valuable experience. Hope to see you again someday!

●Inaba
After designing the GR III, I was given the opportunity to design the GR IV. I was relieved when it was successfully released this year.

GR meet 47 was an incredibly valuable experience. I ended up participating in all 47 locations without meaning to. Wow! I realized that Japan has countless wonderful sights and delicious foods that I haven’t discovered yet. I’m grateful for all the connections and encounters!

We look forward to working with you again next year.

I hope you all take care of yourselves as the flu seems to be going around. Have a Happy New Year!

*We apologize for the absence of Apprentice.
